Summit ’17
The III Summit de Barcelona Oberta under the title “Public-private partnership key to success”, has been the platform from which the mayors Colau, Trias and Hereu have launched today the Manifesto “Barcelona more than ever”, in order to to ask publicly and jointly for Barcelona to be the city chosen by the European Medicines Agency.
Three days before the Council of Europe’s decision on where the European Medicines Agency (EME) will go, the mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau (BComú), and her two predecessors, Xavier Trias (PDeCAT) and Jordi Hereu (PSC), have jointly called for Europe’s support for Barcelona’s candidacy.
The 3rd Barcelona Oberta Summit, dedicated to discussing collaboration between the public and private sectors, was the setting chosen by Mayor Colau to launch this joint manifesto in Catalonia, Spain and the world, who publicly thanked Barcelona Oberta for the flexibility in Barcelona to be able to launch this message and also took the opportunity to congratulate the private sector for all the work it is carrying out.
As conclusions of this meeting, the president of Barcelona Oberta, Gabriel Jené, emphasised that “in the current context we need more public-private collaboration to achieve maximum efficiency and excellence, not to demonise the private sector or the public sector, but to support the public-private sector”.
